Rachel + Matt were travelling the world when they got in touch with me. They had just got engaged in Mendoza. For those of you that don’t know, Mendoza is full of beautiful rolling vineyards and mountain scenery, the perfect spot for a proposal wouldn’t you agree? But Matt proposed to Rachel in a four-bed dorm because “he wanted to surprise her.” When they told me this, it made me giggle a lot and I knew that they were the right kind of chilled out couple that I love to shoot.
Seeing as Vineyards and wine was a big part of their story the only venue that Rachel + Matt wanted to get married at was Stanlake Park: A stunning vineyard nestled deep in countryside complete with a rustic barn and beautiful grounds.
The couple wanted to have a super relaxed feel to the day and utilised the space outside the barn perfectly with a real festival feel,  bunting, marquee, hay-bales, garden games and a bouncy castle which went down a storm later in the evening after a few glasses of wine!!!
Rachel + Matt went to town on the detail and the barn was bursting with character, beautiful personal touches were dotted around all over the place which didn’t go unnoticed by their guests.
After sunset, the couple had arranged a secret open mike around the fire pit AND IT WAS BLOODY AWESOME. Everyone arm and arm, singing together as the night drew in. It was a real wow moment that made me love my job even more and something I will remember for a long time to come!

Rachel looked absolutely, undoubtedly stunning in her ASOS (sparkly dress) She totally rocked it everyone told her so!  The topic of dresses can often be a sore subject amongst brides and Rachel found herself in that position too. She has written a fabulously honest article on wedding weight-loss which Love My Dress have featured. It is a wonderful read and beautifully written.

To sum it up she says: “…Get a dress that fits you, because life happens. Take that pressure off yourself, because planning a wedding should be a joy. Enjoy the day, park any insecurities you have in the morning because the second you marry your husband you won’t have a care in the world”

and I could not agree with her more. It was a real privilege to be part of Rachel + Matts wedding, they are a super couple who know that together, they can conquer anything!
