“Love is Love, no matter what your gender or sexuality and everyone deserves to find that special someone.”
After being set-up via friends, Lee and Simon found they had plenty in common; within three years, they were living together and at Christmas 2017, they got engaged. Just under two years later they got married at Oakley Hall just outside Basingstoke before partying at the beautiful Bombay Sapphire Distillery.
Lee and Simon invited 115 guests to watch them say I do on a sunny summer day at Oakley Hall. Walking down the aisle together to Amy Winehouse’s To Know Him is to Love Him – it set the tone perfectly for the rest of the day. After the I do’s they let off what I can only describe as the BIGGEST confetti cannon I have never seen and everyone and everything was glistening in the sunshine!
There are people in the world who cannot legally get married to the one they love and the more people that decide to share their story it helps make Gay Marriage a new normal and not a ‘thing’.
A quick bus journey down the road to Bombay Sapphire where we were all transformed into an industrial/botanical dream taking in all the wonderful sights that the Home Of Bombay has to offer. Naturally, gin was flowing freely and everyone had huge smiles on their faces. Later on, an acoustic singer sang next to the river, getting people up and dancing in the beautiful summer sun. The whole vibe was so relaxed.
After the meal and speeches the evening really kicked off with the most amazing 4 piece Motown Band – Motown Royals (anyone that knows me, knows I grew up on Motown, so I was in my element!) Everyone was up on their feet dancing and that is how it stayed for the rest of the night, gin, music, laughter and lots and lots of dancing!
Here is Simon + Lee’s wedding
