Lou + Jack had one of the most heartfelt and sentimental weddings I have even been too. They decided to get married at Huntstile Organic Farm in Bridgewater. They wanted to be outside, in the open air, with the beautiful June sunshine shining over them.
The day started with Lou hanging out with her mum and girlfriends on the farm, everything was super chilled and relaxed. Just a stone’s throw away in another building Jack was getting ready, ironing his shirt and greeting guests as they started to arrive.
Everyone was buzzing for the day ahead, lots of hugs and kisses and then so many oooooooohs and ahhhhhhhhh’s as the tractor pulled up ready to take everyone up to The Stone Circle.
The Stone Circle is a truly magical spot. Made from ancient staddle stones, the circle lies on the edge of a woodland, upon a hilltop with breathtaking views across the county, so that was all pretty special on its own. But what made the ceremony truly amazing was that Lou + Jacks best friend officiated the ceremony for them. The humanist ceremony was beautiful, personal and utterly fun. It was the perfect blend of each of their personalities, mixed with core values and a lot of singing (Jack plays in a band!)
After the I do’s and all the singing. Some guests opted to walk back down the hilltop whilst others jumped aboard the tractor once more and we all headed back to the farm where the drinks were flowing, the music was playing and the sun kept shining.
The marquee looked amazing – just the right blend of DIY/festivalness. Bunting, wildflowers, a whole table of cakes ready for pudding and lovingly baked by Jack + Lou’s friends and family. What I loved best about the set up was NO TOP TABLE. Jack and Lou sat slap bang in the middle of the room with everyone they love around them. It was so refreshing and allowed me to get so close to people for the speeches, which were SO GOOD! (I also just want to say, the food was amazing, the in-house catering team use home-grown produce and cater to all dietary requirements, yay for us vegans!)
Afterwards, I took Jack and Lou for a walk around the farm, we strolled through the fields as the sun was giving us its best later summer hazy vibes. Everyone was on top form. Bellies full, hearts full, now it was time for dancing. The really awesome thing about being in a band, they will 100% play at your wedding and that is exactly what happened. The dancing did not stop. It was wild and I also set up the photobooth which just descended into utter carnage! The totally awesome thing about Huntstile is that they have accommodation included in the venue hire, plus camping pitches for a further 30 guests. So the party does not need to stop, you can carry on at breakfast the next day!
I will forever look back at this wedding with the happiest of memories. A beautiful couple, amazing weather, a stunning location and the most awesome relaxed wedding vibes going!
